UNLEASH Asia Pacific 2011 had just ended.
This is my first international congress committee experience anyway.
Just feel like writing it down, to share on my personal thought as well as feeling throughout the whole preparation and the conference itself.
First of all,
I am not sure why am I so brave at the first place that I applied for UNLEASH AP 2011, while knowing that it will be held in Johor Bharu, organized by AIESEC UTM.
Reason behind is because I am not familiar with anyone in AIESEC UTM and it will be a total new chapter in my AIESEC journey as alumni.
Yet, I would say that I never regretted at all.
I was offered for ER department at the very beginning but thankfully I rejected it and I gotta Delegate Servicing at the end. *I love Delegate Servicing!!*
Who knows what will happen if I were in ER team! To me, ER is too challenging for me that dislike corporate dealing system. When you hate something, it means you can't get it well done. That's why I rejected it although it sounds tempting to me somehow.
After been allocated into DS(Delegate Servicing) Department, I started my 3 months journey as Congress Committee (CC). Throughout the preparation, I personally think that it's kinda chaos because everything was done through virtually and I believe it's still not a culture for all to have it done in that way. Transition of task, communication, meeting and etc were done virtually, and that created a brand new working experience for me as I never work virtually with anyone throughout three months and finally meeting them up in the last few days before event start. I could say I really learn a lot from that, hope it can really be addition point for me!
Be a DS member, especially the one that respond to their questions/doubts/inquiries/complaints, I sort of become the wiki for the delegate. LoL. Even during the conference days, sometimes, I do not need to refer to the delegate list, I am manage to say out their details. *Kinda proud of myself for this, haha*
During the conference days, I slept average of 3-4 hours per day. Is pretty exhausted when you do not have rest. But everything was worth it when looking at delegates' respond and satisfied expression. I was so touched when during the closing plenary, everyone was clapping their hands off, just to show their appreciation to us. *Super Like!*
Talking about personal experience, I met a lot of new friends around, and finally I manage to expand my network a little, at least out of AIESEC UKM, haha! AIESEC UTMer is crazily friendly and I don't even feel like I am not from UTM but an Intern rather ^.< ! Love you guys!!
After all these, am still wondering will this be the last stop for my AIESEC journey? Looking forward for my future undertaking!
